Dr. McConnell earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He continued his education at Duke University, where he received his Master of Environmental Science. He went on to pursue his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine.  

Dr. McConnell’s path to dentistry was inspired by his older brother, also a dentist, whose work and impact sparked his interest in the field. At the time, Dr. McConnell worked in the EPA’s environmental research lab, but he realized his passion was helping people more directly, which led him to return to school and ultimately build a career in dentistry.

He particularly enjoys crown and bridge work and finds great fulfillment in helping patients achieve confident, healthy smiles.

Outside of the office, Dr. McConnell enjoys traveling, photography, and spending quality time with his wife and their three children.
